INCLINE VILLAGE, Nv., October 19, 2010 --- Decorating your business, or home, and dressing up for  Halloween is convenient and easier than ever before with the annual conversion of  Dress The Part(y) to a “spirit store” for the month of October.  “One step inside Lake Tahoe’s, indeed northern Nevada’s, only year-round full-service costume store will put anyone in the mood to spook or sizzle this season,” said owner Linda Offerdahl, who donates to local charities.
Costumes and accessories are Dress The Part(y)’s specialty.  Packaged costumes and accessories are available, as well as vintage, to create any look for purchase or rental.  Want to be a rock star?  Check out the latest Lady Gaga’s costumes, as well as lame leggings and accessories for every star from Elvis and Marilyn to Michael Jackson and Madonna.  Traditional Halloween vampires and witches, loads of pirates and princesses, couples costumes and superheroes have the store packed.  “Sexy is always huge,” said Offerdahl, “We have an entire section  of the store dedicated to Leg Avenue and Rubies Secret Wishes costumes.  We stock all of the hosiery, shoes and accessories to complete the look.”  Current movies also dictate hot costumes.  The new Toy Story, Twilight, Shrek, and Harry Potter movies ensure that those costumes will be safe bets.
Indoor and outdoor decorations, party supplies, novelties and party favors are all available.  “We have an amazing amount of merchandise and it is all competitively priced so no one has to go down the hill”, commented Offerdahl.

Dress the Part(y) is located at 774 Mays Boulevard, Suite 13, in Incline Village, across from  the post office.  It is open seven days week through Halloween.  Visit us on facebook, flickr, and Dressthepart. Org.

KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE, AND SPOOKY, THIS HALLOWEEN!

Halloween is a fun time for kids, yet it’s also an important time to be extra vigilant for possible safety hazards.  Unlike the spooky stories that come with this celebration, it’s OK for your ghosts and goblins to be visible when they come and go.  Dress The Part(y) in Incline Village,  the only full-service year-round costume store in northern Nevada, offers a variety of safety lighting for trick or treaters, as well as costumes, decorations and props to keep everyone in the right spirit.
For safer trick-or-treating, make your child easier to spot by adding an accessory that gives off light.  For the younger crowd, give them something to hold like a light stick wand or sword.  Glow sticks and necklaces can add color and become part of a costume for older kids.  Reflective tape on the back of a costume or on the shoes can help cars spot trick or treaters more easily.  Try cutting out a lightning bolt to place on the side of your next super hero or Harry Potter wannabe.  If you already have your costume, bring it to the store to find the right lighting accessory.
Although big hats are fun, they may block the critical peripheral vision that is so critical at night.  Opt for better visibility. Wigs create lots of new looks, tiaras and headbands are fun and can be worn away from the eyes in a wide variety of ways.   Dress The Part(y) offers hats, wigs and other head accessories for children and adults.
Too-big shoes look great on a clown but won’t be a laughing matter if they don’t fit well. Boots stay on better than shoes, and they might get more use.  Girls love heels, but you should stick with shoes that provide a more stable stance.  For a specific look, check out Dress the Part(y)’s gogo boots (with sturdy heels), themed ballet flats ,  and red glitter shoes(Mary Janes) and gogo  boots for children. Young princesses are safer in a tea length
Halloween is around the corner.  Take time to pro-actively prep your goblins and leave unwanted spooky tales behind.  And when the howling begins, remember the basics:  carry a flashlight or glow stick, walk and don’t run … and be sure to get caught up in all of the fun.
For complete costumes, accessories, party ideas and supplies, shop Dress the Part(y) at 775 Mays Boulevard in the Village Center (near the post office) in Incline Village.  The store is open Monday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm, and Sundays, noon – 5pm.  For specific information, feel free to call the resident goblins at (775) 832-PART (7278).
